Dejavu of Peace in Zogam

By: Olivia  Julyanne  Ryan

Memories of midnight fades, so did the horrible nightmares of yesterday.
Promises broken , worn out smiles on the face.
And I am convinced , all craze bad or good must come to an end.
Astonishing as it may sounds but yes the truth has it all.
Yet there was a time, many a year ago…
This  land so rich thriving true patriots,
And the soil embracing the rest- longing bodies of the old.
The  night were passed with the humming lullaby of the “Vakawlkap”.
The refreshing breeze blowing gently against the reluctant pine trees,
Where the cock crows early morn to wake up the willing farmers to work in their fields,
And the leaves twirling merrily under the summer sun of Zogam.
Where peace reign and the day stood still so amusingly watch the Zomis delighting in their world.
While the dusk reveal the magnificence of nature’s dressed Zogam.
And time, much reverse as now seemed to have  known no pace..
While I stood still to listen to such a heavenly an inviting account,
Rumors and wars made their way distracting this peaceful  thought.
The gun shoots  and those bombs as they called broke the silence,
Leaving behind feeble children in misery, and disdained widows in agony.
Is waging wars or killing the paramount elucidation?
Or is it a soft option between what you must gain and he lose his life at your cost?
Have we ever even for a moment, stop to reflect the actuality?
What good does taking your brother’s life convey? Or are we at combat within ourselves?
Maybe there’s a much better way, a more humane one.
May be forgiveness is right where we fell…
But where can we run to escape our fade?
Much as we desire, so does mankind- your children, brothers and the then generation.
May all open to love and surrender to peace-to a mutual understanding.
And the world would be much an abode for all the good we desire for living.
May we all love and be loved…
